How to Apply
The following describes the eligibility criteria and application process for NSF-CSEMS scholarships.  If you have any questions, please send email to Prof. Sandra Carberry at carberry@cis.udel.edu

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria include:

Applying for a Scholarship:

An informational letter along with an application form will be mailed to eligible students during the spring semester.  Applicants will be asked to complete the application form and to provide a reference letter from a faculty member.  Students who believe that they meet the eligibility criteria but have not received an informational letter by April 1, 2006 should contact Sandra Carberry at carberry@cis.udel.edu

Selection of Scholarship Recipients:

The project management team will evaluate the applications and select the scholarship recipients; in some instances, students may be invited for interviews. Decisions about scholarship awards will be based on academic and leadership achievements and future potential, and the projected impact of the scholarship on the student's educational plan and future career.  The selection committee consists of the following:

  • Johnie Burton, Director of Financial Aid
  • Sandra Carberry, Professor of Computer and Information Sciences
  • David Olagunju, Associate Professor of Mathematics
  • Olufemi Olowolafe, Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Michael Vaughan, Assistant Dean for Engineering Student Affairs
  • Program Features:

The NSF-CSEMS scholarship program at the University of Delaware will include several special features,  such as undergraduate research opportunities and discipline-specific experiences, both to enrich the student's educational experience and to prepare them for seeking admission to a graduate program or career employment.  For more information on the program, please visit the information for current scholarship recipients  web page.
