CALL FOR SOFTWARE DEMONSTRATION PROPOSALS
Second International Conference on
AUTONOMOUS AGENTS (Agents '98)
Agents'98 will host an evening of peer-reviewed software demonstrations
showing early implementations of novel autonomous agents. All demos will
be given in parallel in an informal setting. The demonstration period will
last about three hours; demos should be brief so that they can be shown
repeatedly in this time.
Demo submissions will be evaluated on the basis of their innovation,
relevance, scientific contribution, and potential logistic constraints.
Commercial products are eligible, but sales and marketing activities are
not appropriate.
The submission should consist of a cover letter indicating the primary
author's name, affiliation, address, phone number, and e-mail address,
and two copies of the following:
-
A two-page summary of the technical content of the demo. This summary will
be handed out at the conference.
-
A detailed description of hardware and software requirements. Please state
whether you can supply these yourself. Agents'98 will attempt to provide
necessary equipment, but some demonstrators may be required to provide
their own equipment.
-
An informal videotape of the demo (in NTSC VHS format), or a demo storyboard
with at least six screen dumps (not more than six pages, including pictures).
Demo submissions must be received by Henry Kautz, Software Demos Chair,
at the address below no later than .
Email submissions are acceptable. Authors will be notified
of acceptance by March 13, 1998. If your travel plans require
an earlier decision, please indicate this on your application.
Authors of accepted Agents'98 papers will automatically be invited to
demonstrate their systems at the conference, assuming appropriate equipment
can be arranged. Authors of accepted papers must, however, submit
items (1) and (2) above by the deadline if they wish to participate in
the demonstration program.
