Computer Science Research Day
Date: Monday December 8, 2008
Location: Multipurpose Room, Trabant University Center, University of Delaware
The Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Delaware proudly announces its Second Annual Computer Science Research Day on Monday December 08, 2008. The Research Day will showcase the research being conducted by the graduate students in our department and will serve as a forum for interaction between graduate students, faculty, alumni, and research professionals from industry and government. We also invite undergraduate students and faculty from other universities to participate.
We have planned a variety of fun activities for the day including research poster presentations by our graduate students, a lively Panel Discussion with invited speakers, tours of our newly renovated research labs, and a Computer Science Jeopardy game. A highlight will be the Keynote Speech by Dr. Ram Ramanathan, from BBN Technologies. The event is free and will include lunch and afternoon refreshments. We will be giving away many prizes including an IPod.
For alumni: A great opportunity to meet our faculty, current grad students, and people from local industry, reignite old friendships, and see our brand new research labs and remodeled department space.
For faculty: Come and see the research being done in our department. Let us find ways to build meaningful collaborations with you and your colleagues. We encourage you to bring with you a group of undergraduate students so they can be motivated to go on to graduate school.
For industry and government professionals: The research ideas on display may be just what you are looking for to advance your company! We can discuss research collaborations, technology transfers, and other means of effective partnerships. Or come to look for future employees among our graduate students.
For undergraduate students: If you think you might want to consider graduate studies, come and see what grad school is like. Talk with our graduate students and visit our research labs.
For all: An excellent opportunity to network and make friends. Enjoy the free food, play some fun games, and have the chance to win an IPod and other great prizes!
Come individually or come as a group, and have a great time!
