Getting Started
Currently, a lot of softwares have been developed for the purpose of stock information retrieval. However, most of them emphasize on the retrieved information, not the on users. These softwares may be very powerful in finding a wide range of information, but users may suffer from finding their own interested information among a huge amount of items. It is clear that a more flexible software which can allow users to define their own requirements will be very desirable.
The User Defined Stock Opportunity Monitor (UDSOM) provides users a flexible applet to get the real-time stock information on their own demands. Users can not only specify the stock symbols but also define their own stock opportunity requirements. The retrieved stock information is shown in both text and graph. In addition, a very friendly GUI is provided.
Since UDSOM
is written by using JDK1.1, recommended browsers are Netscape
4.0 and Internet Explorer 4.0.
