People, portraits and pets Aug 2000 update: Since the last time I worked on my web site, I have decided to move my butt and start shooting again. I shot a wedding, a fashion show and I will be having some model shoots soon. So, keep your eyes peeled for this section.September 2000 update: Its a real bother to shoot if I have to think of legal clauses all the time. Note for potential models:If you do not agree with this model release form taken from this book, I am afraid I wont be able to take your picture. I hate having to take care of legalese as it is and I am not in photography to make money from students and other not-so-rich people. Worse, making money from a hobby makes it difficult for me to have fun shooting, so I will not sell your pictures. Also, if you are a minor in the state of Delaware, I will not take pictures of you even with your parent's written consent. Sorry. Fine art/paid models:If you are a paid model and/or I take a fine art picture of you(I will let you know I do), the part where I discuss making money changes a little and I will let you know if I sell any pictures. Bottom-line: As of today, I am so ignorant of laws concerning photographers and I am so devoid of business sense that all I will do with your pictures is maybe hang it up on my wall. Maybe a bunch of friends will like it and commend my picture-taking skills. Maybe it will go on my printed portfolio. Maybe, with your written permission (implicit in the model release form) it will go on an online portfolio. I do not envision serious business enterprise with your picture nor do I plan to make it really rich soon with your picture, however great it is. Thereby: I plan to make a good career out of my graduate degree in Computer Science (PhD, hopefully) , so that I can invest in medium/large format cameras to take better pictures. All this would be for my own enjoyment. If you do not understand any of the above and if you think I invested nearly $6000 only to profit from it, please, please, please do not approach me for pictures. August 2001 update: Pictures from Sedona, AZ and enroute to same are due. Check out other pictures: Orchids, orchids, orchids July 2000 update: I have them all on a picture disk. Gotta speak to the owner of those orchids before I can put them up here!! Check out Greg Allikas' very well done orchid site in the meantime!Oct. 2000 update: The site is finally up!!! Click here for the orchids. Acknowledgements and fineprint All the photographs leading from this page except the ones in the Orchid exhibit (which were scanned as a Kodak Picture CD) AND the last exhibit (WVa Trip) were professionally scanned at Advanced Digital Imaging by suggestion of the static pages in Philip Greenspun's homepage. Images were scanned into a Kodak Photo CD as PCD image pacs and read in at base (512 * 768) or base * 4 (1024 * 1536) or base * 16 ( 2048 * 3072) resolutions using Adobe Photoshop and Kodak acquire module. The images were then "Auto Level"ed, cropped and thrown on black canvas with copyright information. No other adjustment or correction was made except where explicitly stated. All the pictures, text, software following from this page and from its links are (c) Sundaram Rajagopalan. If you need copyright information about any of these, the gory details are in here July 2001 Update: My new exhibit, Philadelphia, "part deux", was all scanned into a Kodak Picture CD. The folks at the Q-labs did a decent job of the scanning, but my negatives turned out badly scratched. You get what you pay for! Most often, you pay extra for better handling of your negatives.
